Greensboro Jewish Federation

Thanks to the humanitarian aid from the Jewish Federation of Greensboro 4,475 members of the Jewish community received new clothes and footwear in 2004. The aid was also distributed to the non-Jewish boarding schools, associations of veterans and disabled people, nurseries for the elderly.

Marc, 13 years

Marc lives in Beltsy with disabled mother and grandmother. Total family income is $60/month. Marc was excited to learn that the humanitarian aid came from the people he had been acquainted with through the camp.
“I thank my friends from across the ocean to grant me an opportunity to be in the summer camp, work with the computer, and obtain new clothes”.

Dina, 14 years

Dina lives in an old shabby house. Parents earn hardly enough money to keep body and soul together.
“I suit perfectly in the new clothes. Say thanks to the donor on our part”, - asked Dina.

Aharon, 74 years

Aharon lives alone in a small apartment in Kishinev. His retirement pension is $23/month.
When Aharon came to the Hesed to pick up jogging shoes, he smiled and said: “I’m very pleased that, being no longer young, I’ll be able to play football now. Seriously speaking, I realize how much effort has been involved for me to get these shoes. My big thanks!”
