On May 23 the last meeting of the project „Hevruta in Moldova” in the 2009-2010 annual cycle took place at the KJJC. It was one of the most interesting meetings – presentation of the exhibiton and acquaintance with Mikhail Brunea, a famous artist who works in graphics, classic painting and in a style of relief painting when the picture seems three-dimensional.

Over 55 people, among whom friends, colleagues and admirers of Mikhail’s talent came to the meeting. Over 30 works of Mr. Brunea were hang on the walls of the KJJC 2nd floor. Mikhail told about his roots and biography, his start as an artist and illustrator of books, exhibitions in many countries. He answered questions and told about his creative plans for the future.

The meeting was conducted in a homy and family atmosphere with nice music of Bach and Haydn interperted by laureats of international competitions from the JCC KEDEM violinists group „Fidler”.

„Mr. Brunea is one of the most original modern artists in our country”, said Mr. Tudor Braga, director of National Art Gallery „Brincush”. „We highly appreciate his work and are collaborating for many many years.”

„We are very glad that such a warm and cordial meeting as it was today, finishes the annual cycle of our project supported by the Pincus Fund and American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee”, said Michael Finckel, coordinator of the project. „Thanks to them during a year we had possibility to hold such meetings, lectures and discussions. We are sure that in the cycle of 2010-2011 our „Hevruta” meetings will be even more interesting and attractive for you.”
